With new strains of the Coronavirus showing up all over the world we all have a newfound need to remember some methods to help stay healthy during the colder months of the year! And though the pandemic is a great reason in itself to review healthy best practices—these same practices can be used to prevent other illnesses that like to show up when the leaves, and temperatures both fall!
Washing your hands is one of the best and simplest ways to help stay healthy during the pandemic, as well as prevent other sicknesses as well! According to the CDC, you should wash your hands for at least 20 seconds, or sing “Happy Birthday” to yourself twice! Remember to also practice social distancing from those who you do not share a household with!
Wearing a mask is also a huge way to help stay healthy during the colder months of the year! Another added benefit of wearing a mask is it helps your lips and nose stay warm when the temperatures start to dip! Also be sure to continue to get your annual flu shot on top of any other vaccines you might need for the upcoming fall and winter seasons—the CDC cites this as one of the best ways to protect against the flu and other diseases!
