Malware, Ransomware, Phishing—these are all terms that are becoming commonplace due to how widespread the internet has become in our day-to-day lives! The growth of these terms is not just a random occurrence either, in the last 5 years these kinds of attacks and hacks have grown to the point that the global cost of Cybersecurity Attacks has grown from $325 Million in 2015, to $11.5 billion in 2019—which is a frighteningly incredible 5700% increase!

According to Deloitte, 91% of cyberattacks begin with a “spear-phishing” email—which is pretty much a shot in the dark from a hacker! If you or anyone in your business gets an email that looks strange or has a strange attachment you should avoid opening it and do not respond!

Another large avenue for cybersecurity risk comes from social media! WIth the amount if information that you or your employees may share on social media may put your business at risk! Be sure to have a social media policy in place to help prevent cybersecurity incidents coming from social media!

New attacks are always coming out on a daily basis, and due to this it is always great to just keep up with cybersecurity experts’ blogs and the news! If you stay vigilant you can help lower the risk of having an attack affect you and your business!
