world-1264062_960_720If traveling on an airplane doesn’t sound like your cup of tea but you are still craving a vacation there are many different ways to help you and your family feel like you’re on a full fledged vacation without leaving the comfort of your house! Here’s a short list of things you could do as fun stay-cation ideas:

Backyard Carnival

Since many events and fairs have been canceled this year, you probably have a few unhappy family members wishing that they could still go to one! But if you’re up for the work, it’s not very hard to pull off your own mini-carnival in your backyard! Make simple stands that have games to play like throwing water balloons at targets, face painting, bobbing for apples, and others! You can also make a snack bar with all the staples of a great carnival: Cotton candy, hot dogs, popcorn, and candy apples!

Las Vegas Breakfast Buffet

If you have ever been to a buffet-style breakfast in Las Vegas you know how great theold-1130731_960_720 food is! While Las Vegas isn’t the most family-friendly city to use as an example, they do know how to do buffets right! Make a ton of pancakes, French toast, pick up some croissants, crepes, scones, different kinds of juices, flavored coffees, and everything else you’d want and make a giant spread!

Backyard Camping

Camping is about connecting with the outdoors and enjoying the being outside, and while your backyard isn’t Yellowstone camp-4363073_960_720Park—it still is part of the outdoors! You can build a small fire or fire-pit and cook up your favorite food, play backyard games like frisbee or football, tell ghost stories, and if you want the full experience set-up a tent and spend the night on the backyard lawn! You might even forget that you are just 10 feet away from your house if done correctly!
